What are the age and height requirements or restrictions to drive?
Drivers must be able to safely reach the pedals. Minimum age and Height to Drive is 8 Years and 50” for Rookie Racing, 10 Years and 56” for Family Racing and 16 Years and 60” for Competition Racing. Minimum are and height to ride as a passenger is 4 Years and 36”. Maximum combined weight is 550 pounds. The rules are in place for your safety and your child’s safety. They are not negotiable.
How much does a race cost?
Races are $8 each and can be purchased at the Bowling Counter or the Kiosk in the Arcade.
How long is each race?
Each race lasts about 8-10 minutes from Pit Entry to Pit Exit. The actual race time is roughly 5 minutes.
Can I bring my own helmet?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own helmet as long as it is DOT approved.
What do I need to race?
All drivers must wear closed-toe shoes. No Heels Allowed. No loose fitting clothing is allowed (scarves, dangling jewelry, etc.) Any long hair must be tied or banded. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items so please leave cell phones, keys, etc. in the plastic bins at the pit area prior to racing.
Will younger drivers race with adult drivers?
All efforts will be made to group drivers of similar age together. However, during peak times, drivers of varying age may be grouped together.
Are the Go Karts 1 Seaters or 2 Seaters and do they adjust?
All of our Karts are 2 Seaters and are adjustable.
What is your policy on alcohol?
It is unsafe and illegal to drink and drive. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding alcohol, drugs, controlled substances, or anything that impairs your ability to operate a motor vehicle. Shockwave Speedway reserves the right to refuse service to anyone suspected of taking an intoxicant prior to racing. Any racer removed from the track due to safety reasons is not entitled to a refund.
